The Quran is divided into 114 surahs and 6236 verses. All the surahs and verses are arranged in 30 consecutive parts, each part being 20 pages long. Each part is named after the surah or verse at the beginning of it. The parts are often designated by their numbering rather than their names. To facilitate teaching, memorizing and contemplating the Quran, these parts are sometimes printed separately in 30 individual books, or in 6 books, or in quarters or tenths, and so on. These parts are sometimes collected and distributed together or distributed independently.
