The Quran was revealed in seven letters, and the letters are not only in writing, but also in pronunciation, meaning, diacritics, punctuation marks, and brevity. Due to the different accents and dialects of the Arabs to whom the Quran was revealed, there are seven fixed readings and three readings that complement the seven, thus completing the ten readings. All these readings and their pronunciation were reported from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and were transmitted by the Companions, then the Followers, then the Followers of their Followers, and so on.
